Set up by ex-Serone Capital partner Vaskevitch, this start-up aims to differentiate itself by focusing on companies affected by industry disruption in the digital era, with credit the optimal asset class to take advantage, according to the firm’s website.
Vaskevitch is joined by high-yield specialist Andre Klotz, previously at Partners Group. Alva launched its first fund, Alva Disruptive Credit Opportunities, in October with backing from partners and a venture capital firm, according to a person familiar with the situation. The fund has $500m capacity, which the firm is hoping to reach within the next 12-18 months, ACI understands. Prior to joining Serone Capital, Vaskevitch spent time at BCM & Partners and LNG Capital, cutting his teeth making distressed debt investments at BNP Paribas and a creating ABN AMRO’s high-yield platform.
