Description of the company and the role

An opportunity has arisen to join ALVA Capital LLP, a London based boutique financial services firm that provides asset management and private capital placements. The asset management division acts as multi-family office, providing portfolio allocation and discretionary management services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals as well as institutional clients. ALVA also acts as a capital placement agent where the firm sources, structures and syndicates debt and equity for a wide range of business and uses.
We invest globally, both in credit and equity, with an emphasis on high yield corporate credit where the firm has dev
eloped a deep knowledge base as well as a network within the high yield market. The investment approach is value driven, bottom up overlaid with top down macro trends.


Alva Capital is currently in its growth phase and a successful candidate can become a key person at the firm. You will be working closely with the CEO and have the opportunity to learn real-time about all aspects of the business with a focus on, credit analysis, trading and portfolio management. 


You would be responsible for supporting the CEO with managing the firm’s portfolios and providing operational support. Your main responsibilities will be, to conduct analysis on specific companies and sectors, maintaining the portfolio management system, executing, and settling trades. In addition, you will be preparing presentations and helping with onboarding new clients. 

This role is wide in scope and suitable only for candidates who are looking to walk the extra mile and feel comfortable with multi-tasking under pressure.

Required candidate experience, skills and attributes

​

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

    An entrepreneurial mind-set,
    strong analytical capabilities,
    flexible and open minded, 
    ability to build and operate systems, 
    fast learner, 
    strong technical skills and attention to detail.

​

The ideal candidate MUST have the following experience and attributes:

    At least 2 years of experience at a large organisation,
    based in London and eligible to work in the UK,
    a 1st class university degree,
    strong attention to detail,
    neat with strong organisation skills,
    problem solver with the ability to think creatively,
    intermediate knowledge in finance and accounting,
    Microsoft Office proficient (expert in Excel),
    able to build an LBO model and business plan from scratch,
    focused and mission oriented,
    communicative and easy going,
    fluent in English with excellent written communication skills.
